At Last, Hollywood History Is At Hand…ON FOOT!
Not your ordinary Hollywood tour! It’s more like a live action NPR or PBS documentary. Come and enjoy a fascinating exploration of the exact area in Hollywood where it all began. And surprise, surprise: It’s not Hollywood Boulevard!
We’ll talk about how Hollywood (the town) happened and why Hollywood (the business) happened here.
We’ll discover the origins of:
- 4 major film companies
- 3 radio networks
- 3 television networks
- 6 record companies
- 2 legendary recording studios that boast more hit records than any other studios on earth
If you are visiting Los Angeles the tour offers a true insider’s look and a one-of-a-kind introduction to Hollywood.
For locals the tour provides a fresh and surprising look at familiar terrain.
From the 1910s till now, we’ll walk where they walked and worked and played!
All of the tours will be intimate (generally no more than 8 people), and they are under 2 hours in duration. I will make ample time at the conclusion of each tour to answer any questions that may have occurred to you during the tour.
There are tons of stories, anecdotes, facts, gossip and fun! I’ve also compiled a wonderful book of photographs to show you what it all looked like.
The day of your tour
We will meet at the fountain/statue in front of the Chase Bank on the corner of Sunset & Vine (1500 Vine St, Los Angeles, CA 90028)
***IMPORTANT*** Give yourself enough time to park and arrive at meeting spot 5-15 minutes before the tour time, as tours depart promptly and we’d hate it if you were left behind!
If you arrive by subway, the bank is two short blocks south of the Hollywood & Vine station.
If you are driving, there is a public pay parking garage at 1625 Vine St. The bank will be 1 1/2 blocks south of the garage.
Feel free to contact us for ticket requests or any questions you may have.
